HPE acquires OpsRamp- expanding HPE GreenLake into IT Operations Management
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) recently agreed to acquire OpsRamp, an IT operations management (ITOM) company that monitors, observes, automates and manages IT infrastructure, cloud resources, workloads and applications for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including the leading hyperscalers.
Integrating OpsRampโs hybrid digital operations management solution with the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform & supporting it with HPE services will reduce the operational complexity of multi-vendor and multi-cloud IT environments that are in the public cloud, colocations, and on-premises.
According to Fidelma Russo, CTO at HPE, โCustomers today are managing several different cloud environments, with different IT operational models and tools, which dramatically increases the cost and complexity of digital operations management".
"The combination of OpsRamp and HPE will remove these barriers by providing customers with an integrated edge-to-cloud platform that can more effectively manage and transform multi-vendor and multi-cloud IT estates. This acquisition advances HPE hybrid cloud leadership and expands the reach of the HPE GreenLake platform into IT Operations Management", he concludes.
The HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform provides a foundation of the hybrid cloud experience:
HPE GreenLake platform provides customers and partners with a unified hybrid cloud experience and easy access to cloud services. OpsRamp with HPE GreenLake delivers an integrated hybrid cloud platform to manage and transform multi-vendor and multi-cloud IT estates.
The integration of OpsRampโs hybrid digital operations management solution with the HPE GreenLake platform will provide an unmatched offering for organizations seeking to innovate and thrive in a complex, multi-cloud world.
The HPE GreenLake OEM model:
At HPE, we know Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) have unique IT requirements, which makes provisioning resources a careful balancing act. Provision too much, and youโre out of pocket. Provision too little, and you risk being left with unsatisfied customers, lost revenue, and maybe even reputational damage. HPE GreenLakeโs pay-per-use model is designed to keep cost and risk under control. It helps you eliminate upfront capital expenses and improve cash flow, enabling you to gain operational agility and free up IT resources for more strategic objectives, like taking your innovations to market.
The HPE GreenLake OEM model is a new framework with which we can better address the requirements of OEM customers. It is not a one-size-fits-all approach, as each customer will likely have certain requirements that donโt fall within a single solution scope. Rather, these are guidelines and a starting scope designed for OEM opportunities.
HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform propels OEMs into the futureโit is the cloud that comes to youโwherever your apps and data live.
