Extending volumes under vertas volume manager

Dear Freinds,

I have space problem, my oracle database and application are on shared VA 7110 storage, in cluster setup with veritas cluster 3.5, also veritas volume manager is there, the ora disk group and two volumes for prod nad archive are there, both are 99% used space, I have free slots in the VA 7110 array, I want to add phical disks and extend the spcae of the two volumes, I have added the disks, but I'm not able to view them neither through veritas enterprise administrator GUI console, nor on the HP-UX when issue ioscan -funC disk cmd !!
Can I got guided to:
1- Add the disk to the VA 7110, and alocate them to the servers.
2- extend my space for the two volumes and alocate additional space.
Appreciate your help
Thanks

Re: Extending volumes under vertas volume manager

Hi Mutum,

Try these commands to see them.
1. vxdctl enable
2. vxdiskadm scandisks
3. ioscan -fnCdisk
4. insf -e

Once you see them, it is easy for you to add them online assuming you have online JFS.

thanks,

Re: Extending volumes under vertas volume manager

Thanks Sirini,

I do that but still not able to veiw any of new added disk at on my servers.
Do I need to reboot the array ?
For your info my servers and array are interconnected through Fc switches.
Thanks
