Lock disk minumum size

Hi all,
If I had to use a dedicated lock disk for a two node cluster, what would have to be its minimum size?

Thank You

Re: Lock disk minumum size

Mauro,

The smallest capacity you have or can create (if it is a SAN) is OK.

It only sets a flag in the VGDA

Re: Lock disk minumum size

There is no minimum (or maximum size). If the disk's sole purpose is as a lock disk then it can be a very small array LUN; if you are also using this disk as part of a VG to store data then the data requirements determine the size. Plan B. Let the lock disk size be zero because you aren't using it; instead, use a Quorum Server. A very small PC running Linix makes a dandy QS.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Take a look at this from the manual:

Re: Lock disk minumum size

well I remember running tests on this, and think it could be as low as 2MB. But these days you may struggle to get a disk this size :-]
Why have a dedicated lock disc? it can be one of your shared data discs.
Having said that, these days I tend to point people towards using Quorum Server rather than lock disc.
