Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues - August 2002

Hi Dan,
When I assign point, I must do twice or more. That is, the first time I assign take no effect at all.
What's the matter?

Thank you.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues - August 2002

Dan, I tried to post a JPG picture in http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x4beced6464a6d611abdb0090277a778c,00.html (though I'm not sure if Volker want you to read it yet), and I guess it got truncated again or some such (only 28k!). When I click the paperclip on "(javascript:openExternal('/cm/components/FileAttachment/0,,0xa4efed6464a6d611abdb0090277a778c,00.jpg)"

I get an internal error.

I notice in this URL a missing ending quote and ending parens. If it where written as "javascript:openExternal('/cm/components/FileAttachment/0,,0xa4efed6464a6d611abdb0090277a778c,00.jpg')" it might have worked

I'll test on this message
Enjoy, Have FUN! H.Merijn

Dan,

System response is very sluggish this morning 8/7 08:45 CDT.
System problems or network bandwidth?

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues - August 2002

I find the ITRC generally *very* slow today (less than half the speed I expect from the experiences in the past month).

With this speed I doubt the stats will finish before I leave for home

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues - August 2002

Hi

Same problem : extremely slow today

Other problem :

On this thread, I tried to send a zip file ( twice )

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x41ef56bd90a9d611abdb0090277a778c,00.html

Original size was 307 k. Result was 256k.
-> Unreadable

The zip file contained two file ( .exe and .chm )

I've been sending bigger files in the past.
Also .exe

Anything's changed lately ?
.exe not accepted anymore ?
Size limit decreazed to 256k instead of 1 M ?

TIA

Fred

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues - August 2002

I might as well jump on the bandwagon: sssllllooooowwwwwww!!!!
It took me 90 seconds to open this thread and another 90 to get the reply window open. I can only assume that it will be another 90 to submit this. This has been happening since about 09:30 EDT (the last hour or so) and other sites are not exhibiting the same problems.

I thought it was me....but slow - slow - slow today.

I have logged into my Datek account, and a few others and response is good....but once I hit the Forums, it's strictly point, click, and sit back and wait...

Definately experiencing response time problems. Up two minutes to open a thread. Stop/refresh does not help.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues - August 2002

Hi Dan,

the speed problem is gone, but I'm afraid the attachement problem is still here :

On this thread, I couldn't read the attached pdf :

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x7df156bd90a9d611abdb0090277a778c,00.html

It seems like a problem for the latest "non text" attachment ?

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues - August 2002

Hi All,

It appears some gremlins were causing the entire ITRC to crawl. Things are back to normal.

Frederic, not sure what is going on with the pdf, but in trying to access it I received an error that the file was damaged.

Clay, thanks for the note...I've updated the link -- looks like the URL was changed at the target site.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues - August 2002

Dan,

I'm not too fond of the new search engine, what is it, so I make sure that we never use it??

Seriously! It looks better, but the older one searched better. You can't use "+" in front of keywords, the boolean doesn't work correctly (returns items missing keywords), it doesn't treat QUOTED "" strings correctly.

Have you had any other complaints on it?

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues - August 2002

Great job on the forums! Wonderful information.

On the main forum page (http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/1,,1,00.html), under the "Top Users", there is a link to "all forum members". Using that link brings up a page with a set of a-z links, and the first page of "a" members. It would be faster to leave out the first page of "a" members, since most folks will have to choose from the "a-z" links anyway. Even better would be presenting a set of "a-z" links that are broken down to sub-pages with name ranges, so you can go directly to the correct page. For example,

a
a1 (A to Alessandro Pecorini)
a2 (Alessandro Vivas Andrade to Andreas Spaenhauer)
a3 (...)
a4 (...)
b
b1
...

Also, it would be convenient if my profile had a link to my forum question information. Easier to find questions that I've responded to.
