Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Dan,

I believe this is the worst example of the time sync problem yet:

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0xef95e3ed7640d71190080090279cd0f9,00.html

I responded to this thread at roughly 0630 EST. Now at 0900 EST, Steve Steel added a reply that appears before mine. That's a 2 and a half hour difference!!

Pete, Jim, Procura, et al...the server time has been reset and should be in synch and tracking true GMT. Let me know if you see anything different. Thanks again for your continued involvement in making the ITRC Forums a dynamic community of IT pros.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

It is always suggested by us forums users to please please increase the reply window to a broader size.

It seems very complex for us to know how the formatting is when we are replying to people's questions. The syntax is something that we have to worry about.

I am not asking for a very large window, but something like a 4inches x 4 inches.. that's not too much that we ask.

Regards,
Anil

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Morning Dan,

It would appear that the time sync issue is BACK AGAIN!!!!!

Check the following post:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0xc89fe3ed7640d71190080090279cd0f9,00.html

I posted first, the Sridhar. Michael Elleby III posted after both of us, correcting a typo of mine, but his post shows up 4 minutes before mine.

Something still is not quite right here.

And my prior post appears to be about 10-12 minutes off. It shows posted at 17:15 GMT and it was closer to 17:25 or so.

This is posted at 11:30 CST

Patrick (who's wondering if these servers are in their own little dimension where time doesn't matter......Strains of The Twilight Zone theme are floating around in my head now.....)

Pete,

I don't understand your last post.
That link leads to a request for the location of a SW agent for 11.0 that Harry points them to.

Jeff,

It didn't a few minutes ago. It had a reply from a recruiter with "an opportunity in the Bay Area".

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Jeff,

Actually, if you look at the time stamps on the message the link now points to, the last entry was January 8th. What's it doing on page on February 20th? Somebody bombed the recruiter.

That's a new one....
Somebody hiring in the Bay area...that's news =~)
Isn't the new motto out there & in the Valley now....Last one out turn off the lights?
On the flip side I hear housing costs out there have come down out of the stratosphere into the clouds.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Steven,

A 404 error is usually page not found - this happens (entirely too often) on the Forums and the standard workaround is to reload the page. Try that. It may even take several, but it usually works eventually.

I have tried to reload the page....but still was not successful. IT has been all day... the search engine is not working as design

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Pete/Jeff....the 'recruiter' that Pete pointed out was removed, and the info was sent to the intended recipient. Need to maintain some order in here! Pete, thanks for pointing this out.

Steve, I'll check into the search problem you are having. The search engine is not based on the forums architecture, so any issues with search are not related to forums. Standby.

Thanks,
Dan

Could you tell me what happend?

Kind regards,

Robert-Jan.

Hi Dan,

some times already asked, but no answer till now:
What's about the return link (ITRC - hp-ux - ...) at the bottom of a thread?
Especially for your thread ;-))?
And after an reply?

Nice weekend

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Hi Steven,

Have you tried another browser - i.e. NetScape or Mozilla? If you *have* to use Internet Exploder, I'd recommend you clear ALL cache, cookies & temp files.
We've seen numerous posts of these type problems and doing any of the above seems to resolve them.

Good Luck,
Jeff

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Steven, I'd suggest what Jeff says to do...I've seen problems clear up that were due to browser issues and cached files. Did you try contacting the ITRC support team via itrc.support@hp.com? The search engine is under their support domain.

Thanks,
Dan

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Dan,

Well, if it isn't the time sync issue, it's the infamous sli error.

" Error processing SSI file '/cm/FamilyHomeContent/1,11868,LoggedIn!117,00.html'"

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Hi Dan,

Here is a repeat of a previous request. It would be great if there were an area of the forum where we could deposit scripts for everyone to use.

The best case for this is Clay Stephenson's caljd date hammer script. Every week somebody posts a question about working with dates and then somebody has to point them to a previous posting where they can find the latest copy of Clay's great script. It would be much cleaner to be able to point people to a single link where they could find great user contributed scripts without having to use the search engine.

Just add it to the wish list please.

Thanks.

JP
