Re: What do you really want for Christmas - 2002 version

John,

With ref to the Borg thing. Think of the ease of training - one goes on a course & everyone gains the knowledge. Same with holidays I suppose. If there is enough people in the collective you could have a holiday experience 365 days of the year :-)

John,

You're forgetting about the one science-officer type that would be the longest lived of all --- Data. With his memory, you'd never forget anything. Just think of the fun you could have on the Forums then. ;)

Re: What do you really want for Christmas - 2002 version

All I want for christmas is..

A time folder - you've all heard of folding space, for space travel. I want a device that will allow me to fold my 40+ hour work week down to say, 2 hours. The time folder, should also allow me to reverse fold my "time off", so that my 60 Hour weekend can be expanded to say, 180 hours.

Yep that would work.

My plans for the holiday are simple. Spread as much holiday cheer to all the people around the world. I pray for world peace, and I will try to help the economy out by spoiling everyone I know absolutely rotten! (or at least give a nice card).

Re: What do you really want for Christmas - 2002 version

There's a couple of things I'd like for Christmas :

1. That my wife would help me create this third baby (heck who am I kidding, I just want the damn practice)

and
2. I wanna work like Santa (one night a year, and boss everyone else for 364 days).

But I shouldn't complain too much, I get to be Santa at my kids' daycare, and seeing those smiles and hearing their laughters will be my greatest gift again this year. They are able to do what noone else can.. bring back the kid in me for a couple of hours.

I wish everyone of you the best Christmas you can have.
Cooperation is doing with a smile what you have to do anyhow.

I'd really like time on the beach, preferably Sanibel Island. Friends and family together and at peace. Health and happiness.

Happy Holidays!

I'd like a rewind button for life, even if it only goes back a few minutes, so we could:

1) instantly unsay those dumb/hurtful things
2) uncrash a car, unslip on a wet floor, etc.
3) relive precious moments
4) add the really cool last entry on this
list that will be thought of just after

Re: What do you really want for Christmas - 2002 version

I'm sure everyone has head the song "The 12 days of Christmas", well, here is a web site that gives the cost of EVERYTHING in the song.

For the grand total, remember that you go though the song 12 times, once per day, so you get a WHOLE LOTTA STUFF!!!!!!!!

But with what it costs, the heck with the presents, what the hell would I do with swans and pipers and lords-a-leaping and ladies dancing anyway, just give me the CASH!!!!!!

Re: What do you really want for Christmas - 2002 version

(1) A house - one that's farther than 1.1 miles from my inlaws, which is exactly how far my apartment is from them now.

(2) a book that'll decode all those looks I get from my wife. Okay, okay, maybe I shouldn't talk about computers in bed.

(3) a pager that won't break if I throw it against the wall as hard as I can

(4) if I can't have any of the above, then ANYTHING else besides yet another sweater - WHY DO I NEED ANOTHER SWEATER IN CALIFORNIA?!? IT GETS OVER 100 $%&@#!! DEGREES FOR WEEKS IN THE SUMMER!!!

Re: What do you really want for Christmas - 2002 version

For christmas, I would like the economy to pick up... so my family and friends who've been laid off can find good work, and maybe I can make some more money.

Ok - you got me - seriously now: a force-feedback steering wheel and some driving games for my computer!

Hi,

Another useful pressie would be a tardis to keep all the teddy bears and eeyores from previous years (and hopefully this year too !)

Re: What do you really want for Christmas - 2002 version

All I want is a wife that agrees with everything I say, including in the bedroom.
A car that doesn't require something doing on it every month.
Children who are grateful for the presents that they get.
A wife that likes the present that I bought her from the huge wish list she gave me, and doesn't start complaining that Joe Bloggs bought his wife purfume, clothes, all the music CD's she wanted, all the DVD films she wanted, the new car she wanted, the kitchen sink she wanted. She neglected to mention that he is now bankrupt.

Merry Christmas to every one and a Happy New Year.

Re: What do you really want for Christmas - 2002 version

I want to wake up on my birthday, Dec 25th (a big 42), to the following:

my wife

my kids (2 out of the 3, as the oldest is going to El Paso with his girlfriends family)

a warm house

a big breakfast

snow - the rain is getting a little boring (rochester ny)

and lastly: maybe not the cat! Which would make my wife mad, but I truly think God intended cat's to be used in violins :-))

and of course to live free or die

Re: What do you really want for Christmas - 2002 version

NO POINTS PLEASE I HAVE GOTTEN TOO MANY ANSWERING THESE SORT OF THINGS!!!!
I would like ot earn the same money (nearly will do) as I do now but outside of I.T, working Mon-Fri NO evenings, NO weekends (unless I want to do overtime),NO on call, NO phone calls EVER including when I am on holiday. Lunchbreaks & going home on time are a normal, regular occurence. Where working 9-5 with no break is seen as putting extra effort in, rather than seen as 'only' working 9-5 with no break everyday by those on the hill. In an environment where if someones an idiot I can tell em so & if I'm being one, I can be told too regardless of rank. The forks beckon - O to be back in a warehouse.

Hi,

I wish that all your wishes become true
(and for me a dictionary that tells what 'pressie, tardis and eeyores' are).

Oh yes - and all three parts of 'Lord of the rings' (in German, please).

And George Dodds:
wow!!! 10 points from me for your link!

Merry and white Christmas

Re: What do you really want for Christmas - 2002 version

pressie = slang term for a present

tardis = Dr Who's vehicle.

eeyore = miserable donkey from the Winnie The Pooh story (Hilary has somewhat of an obsession).

Re: What do you really want for Christmas - 2002 version

As Chris says a tardis is Dr Who's vehicle, which is bigger on the inside than on the outside.

And I don't have an obsession with Eeyore (donkey from Winnie The Pooh) - well not really - well OK maybe a little bit :-)
