DL380 Gen10 : After enabling Memory remapping option, cannot boot
Hi Team
We had an issue where in one of the DIMM was shown as "Mapped out, error". We rebooted and pressed F9.
Now we followed the following steps . After saving and exiting the BIOS page, the node isnt booting. Cannot enter BIOS also!!!
Configuring memory remapping
Use the Memory Remap option to remap system memory that might be disabled due to a failure event, such as an uncorrectable memory error.
- From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration > BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > Memory Options > Memory Remap.
- Select a setting.
Remap All Memory—Makes all memory in the system available again on the next boot.
No Action—Leaves any affected memory unavailable to the system.
- Save your setting.
Attaching the screenshot of error seen during boot.

Action: Check the IML for additional log
IML says below

Re: DL380 Gen10 : After enabling Memory remapping option, cannot boot
The error message you received indicates a critical error event that prevented the system from booting. The error code 0x0120 suggests an issue with the system chipset initialization or UPI (Ultra Path Interconnect) link initialization.
Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Power off the server and disconnect the power cables. Locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard (typically a small round battery) and remove it for a few minutes. Then reinsert the battery and reconnect the power cables. This action clears the CMOS settings and may help resolve any configuration conflicts.
2. TRy resetting the BIOS settings to their default values. To do this, locate the Clear CMOS or Reset BIOS jumper on the motherboard. Follow the instructions in the server's documentation to reset the BIOS settings.
3. Try updating the Server's firmware to the latest version if any updates are available.
4. Could be possible that the "Mapped out, error" DIMM or another component in the server is causing the booting problem. Try removing the DIMM that was flagged as mapped out and check if the server boots without it. If the issue persists, consider reseating other components such as CPUs, memory modules, and expansion cards. Make sure they are properly installed and have good connections.
I hope this helps! Let me know

Re: DL380 Gen10 : After enabling Memory remapping option, cannot boot
Hello,
This option is enabled for remapping memory that may be disabled due to a failure event, such as an uncorrectable memory error. Set it to 'No Action' and see if the issue resolved.

Hello,
Once the memory is replaced and the issue resolved, you change the setting in BIOS and see if it helps.
