DL380 Gen9 iLO4 syslog failure bug
Hi All,
Syslog collection failure occurs in iLO4 firmware version 2.76 and the current version 2.81.
As a result of testing on the same server, syslog collection works well in 2.75 and 2.72 versions. (Same situation on other servers.)
This is expected to be a firmware bug that has occurred since version 2.76.
There is no syslog related information in the revision history for each iLO4 version on the HPE Support Center webpage.
Will it be possible to patch the issue in a future firmware version?
Or am I missing something?
Thanks

Re: DL380 Gen9 iLO4 syslog failure bug
Hi,
Is there any error message when Syslog collection fails?
Please see the below docs if it helps your issue.
Enabling iLO remote syslog.
HPE Integrated Lights Out (iLO 4) - Remote Syslog
Thank You!

Re: DL380 Gen9 iLO4 syslog failure bug
Thank you very much for your kind reply.
I set it up according to the link you sent and it works well in iLO4 2.75 version.
However, syslog collection fails when only iLO4 version is upgraded to 2.76 (or 2.81) in the same configuration.
No failure error messages are generated when collecting syslog.
Since everything does not work when only the iLO4 version is changed in the same environment, the customer suspects that it is a firmware bug of iLO4.
Are there any examples like this?
I would like to report this as a bug in the iLO4 firmware.
thank you.
