HP Systems Insight Manager
I have about given up on the Systems Insight Manager but it continues to bother me that I cannot get it to work properly.
I have 2 servers setup in a test environment.
Server A= Managed Server with Insight Manager software
Server B= The one server I am trying to monitor
I am having problems getting the Insight Manager email settings to notify me when a critcal device fails.
I have tried to modify the the email settings by putting in our Exchange 2000 ip address and also the FQDN. (Also made sure I entered in the IP address of the HP Insight Manager server into our Exchange server to allow relay)
I setup 2 different "automatic event handling"
1. Unacessible device with the following settings, domain/adminaccount, where "severity" "is" "critical", and where "system name" "is" "any".
Entered in my text message email address and also my regular domain email address. I do not get any notifications? Please help, jdoe@faegre.com

Re: HP Systems Insight Manager
Also, you said you used your "regular domain email address" - by that you mean "jdoe@faegre.com" or your Exchange alias?

Re: HP Systems Insight Manager
One thing I am noticing and have been advised that the event notification is very flaky, when you modify an existing event such as adding an email address, etc the event will not work. The work around was is to recreate the event. I am told that a service pack is due in a couple of weeks?
