Reboot unavailable in Browser

How do you enable the option to reboot a server from within the SIM Browser? On all our servers, within Tasks, Recovery, Reboot server, it says Reboot Unavailable and the Help option doesn't tell you how to enable it.

Thanks

Re: Reboot unavailable in Browser

Hi Lenny,

Not sure how to do this in bulk, but to set an individual server, you should be able to do it this way:

1) In SIM, launch the web management page for a server (https://servername:2381).

2) Click on the "Settings" tab along the top.

3) Click on "SNMP and Agent Settings" link

4) Click on "Management Agents" link (the last option) from the left of the screen.

5) Click the "Enable" radio button under the "Remote Reboot" section.

6) Click "Apply" button to save the changes.

Hope this helps.

Re: Reboot unavailable in Browser

Thanks for that. Knew it was somewhere in the settings but I just couldn't find it. Does the server have to be rebooted for the change to come into effect, as I've made the change but the reboot option is still currently unavailable? Also do oyu know where this configuration is in Netware servers as it's even less obvious in them and I can't find that either.

Thanks

Re: Reboot unavailable in Browser

Actually I just restarted the Management Agents which makes the reboot option available. If you know the answer to the Netware server please let me know.

Thanks

Re: Reboot unavailable in Browser

This option can also be set via the local HP Management Agents Control Panel under Windows, and can be pushed out to multiple servers via the "Replicate Agent Settings" option in Systems Insight Manager. As far as I know, the functionality does not exist for Netware.
