VMworld 2021 finalist! HPE SimpliVity wins award in Security, Networking and Edge category

HPE SimpliVity has been named a “Best of VMworld 2021” finalist in the Security, Networking and Edge category based on criteria that include innovation, value, performance, and functionality. This is the second year in a row that HPE hyperconverged infrastructure solutions have been honored with an award at this international event.

This recognition is a testament to HPE’s commitment to our customers and the hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) that provides organizations of all sizes with the high availability, simplified management, and guaranteed data efficiency needed at the edge.

Over the past decade, HPE SimpliVity HCI has been deployed for general-purpose applications, edge/ROBO, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), and small and medium business infrastructure. Recently, many organizations have increased edge/ROBO deployments to address the astronomical growth of data outside of the data center. Public and private businesses are all capturing and accessing real-time data at the edge to automate operations, make better business decisions, and improve outcomes – and, according to customers, HPE SimpliVity is an ideal choice of platform.

Built on a secure HPE ProLiant foundation, the award-winning HCI solution reduces complexity and lowers overhead for multi-site, distributed edge environments. HPE SimpliVity nodes comprise what is essentially a small data center at each site, with infrastructure and advanced data services efficiently packed into a single, scalable, all-in-one system that allow customers to start small and scale as needed.

What constitutes a ‘Best of VMworld 2021’ finalist?

The judges evaluated solutions based on criteria that range from broad concepts of innovation and value, to more specific attributes such as performance and functionality. The Security, Networking and Edge category includes products that monitor and protect hypervisors and enforce security protocols, as well as hosting guest OSes; products that enhance networking in virtual or cloud networks and/or optimize virtual networks; and tools that enable organizations to build edge computing infrastructure.

It’s a good bet that the judges selected HPE SimpliVity for its outstanding features and benefits, including:

  • Centralized, simple management, with no edge site IT administrator needed1
  • Guaranteed 10:1 data efficiency
  • Built-in data protection from edge to cloud
  • 2-node high availability
  • Simplified infrastructure management with AI
  • Outstanding economics2 in a secure solution3

Certainly, Red Bull Racing Honda recognized the potential of this all-in-one solution. The Formula One racing giant recently modernized their edge infrastructure with fast, resilient HPE SimpliVity HCI.

Today the race team depends on IT to deliver the right data with high performance for everything from onsite track support at the edge, to vehicle design at the core manufacturing site. With HPE SimpliVity, the team has increased speed of deployment by 4X and can set up the HCI system in less than a quarter of the time that their legacy systems took to assemble and operate.

There’s more to HCI than you might think

For two years in a row, both HPE solutions in the hyperconverged infrastructure portfolio have won VMworld awards, for which I am very proud. It all comes down to delivering customer value and business outcomes while simplifying operations.

Powered by the predictive intelligence of HPE InfoSight – a powerful AI analytics and troubleshooting tool that can identify and solve infrastructure issues before they happen – and capable of running even your most demanding workloads, HPE’s hyperconverged offerings redefine what HCI can be. Two distinct portfolio offerings suit every workload:

  • For general workloads and distributed enterprise edge sites, HPE SimpliVity speeds application performance, improves efficiency and resiliency, and backs up and restores VMs in seconds.
  • For organizations that need business-critical application speed and resiliency, HPE Nimble Storage dHCI delivers a hyperconverged experience that also includes independent scaling of compute and storage.

Together, these solutions deliver the simplicity, efficiency, and economy of hyperconverged for your entire environment.

1 95% of surveyed customers rated HPE SimpliVity’s VM-centric vCenter management as valuable in their selection process.

2 ESG found that HPE SimpliVity delivers savings of 28% to 66% over three years for a single all-flash HCI solution compared to public cloud, traditional three-tier infrastructure, and other HCI solutions.
