Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree

BEEYOUTIFUL!  Thank-you

Could powers-that-be synch this list with my old ITRC subscriptions and provide as a side-bar on a pesonalized home page for when I login?

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree

indeed, the lack of such a sidebar is just one example of how HP failed to understand the purpose and use of the forum.

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree

The "pretty" factor of this new interface is nice but for me I'd be just as happy searching for the info on a VT100 as I'm here to get and share answers and for the most part that is lots of text

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree

Thankyou! We needed that.

Is there a listing anywhere of the new tree (this "Community")?

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree

Hi Eric,

No, this is not available. We are looking a ways of making a list available to members. In the HP Software and Solutions area we have drop down menus to find specific product/solution areas. Some members like it others don't. So if you of others have any creative ideas then we are open to them.

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree

If there is any way to link back to the old threads that would be really helpful.   The guys on my team usually used Google to search and then wne t to the itrc link from there, that is no longer an option.

Only by looking at the google cache or searching in the new forum.

Do you know what your ITRC account id was? Perhaps I can help you find your information.

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree

Hi Ken,

Can you provide me with an example of a thread that is not working? I can take a look at it and see if I can help you.

Thanks,

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree

There is still a major issue as far as I can tell, although the new site makes it easy to search by name, what many of us relied on was searching by the KB# associated with an issue or solution.  It does not appear that we are able to search by that information or that the number has migrated over at all.  Am I missing something?  If this searchability is truly lost then I feel the usefulness of the HP Support has once again taken a mighty hit.  The forums were about all we had left in my opinion after several recent dealings with phone support.

Smudge -

Thanks for your feedback.  In order for me to look deeper into this issue can you give me a specific example so I know how to correctly help you out or route your feedback appropriately?

Thank you -

Heather

It appears you are talking about HPSC and not the forums search?

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree

I found after searching for a word in this forum the result page is loading very slowly and if we are browsing through results, it is extremely very slow.

Browsing through result pages for search term is extremely very slow.

Please correct the problem.

> Can't find this one...

And this one had two others pointing to it:

IT Resource Center Forums > OpenVMS > hardware

FC HBA queue depth on OpenVMS

IT Resource Center Forums > OpenVMS > system management

BACKUP/IO_LOAD - What Value

IT Resource Center Forums > OpenVMS > system management

speed up backups

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree

Thanks for the additional information about the missing threads - we believe we've identified the issue with the content that's not yet available and are working as quickly as we can to make that content available.  I'll post a message in the "announcements" area once we have an update on the timing.

I work for HPE.

Thankfully Google's cache still works but that won't last for ever.

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree

you can change the layout of your websites all you want, but knowing this is a high volume forum for all users of your products and then making it impossible to use google for search or an easy way to retrive old posts is just horrible.

google cache is already no longer working for me. you need to find a way to translate these forum posts from the old URL to the new, automaticly.
